Almost Wordless Wednesday...Twins turn 21
I have always been inspired by Mrs. AOK and her Wordless, well "almost" Wordless Wednesday Posts. I would laugh as she would start to explain why she, at times, couldn't be wordless. I can totally understand because if you just post pics that may not necessarily have a lot to do with each other, you have to explain what's going on. I did my first wordless Wednesday a few weeks back and I'm not even sure if I wrote it correctly. I actually contemplated as to the correct way to create one of these post and did a little research. I viewed the post of other bloggers and realized that there was no right or wrong way to write/not write this particular post. So as you can see, this is not a wordless post, but enough has been said. Or has it? LOL... This week I had the pleasure of celebrating with my boys as they celebrated their 21st birthday. Yes, I did say 21st and boys in the same sentence. So join me in wishing them a Happy Birthday!
These Three Words
I'm finally participating with Mia and Vashelle for their weekly Write or Die Wednesdays #WODW. When I read this weeks prompt, instantly the lyrics of Stevie Wonder's song These Three Words began to resonate in my head. When was the last time that they heard you say, Mother or Father I love you? When was the last time that they heard you say, Daughter or Son I love you...as the tune spun around in my head, I think of my children.
I have two, adorable, fraternal twin boys who just happen to be celebrating their 21st birthday. Did I actually say that? Yes, 21! Wow! Boys?!?! I have grown men, but in my eyes they will always be my "boys". I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with them.
They are both away at their respective colleges, finding their own paths in life. Its so hard to believe that I once carried them in my womb and cared for them as infants. They are the joys of my life. Although it's hard to see they all grown up, I can actually say that I have a sense of peace within me. Its hard to explain. I am so happy to be their mom and to know that I did all I could do to raise them to be the men that they are today...Respectable, Caring and Intelligent...just to name a few. They are so different as far as their personalities, yet so alike in many ways. It has not been an easy journey, but it has been a joyful one. I love these two with all my heart and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. These three words...sweet and simple...these three words...short and kind... these three words... I Love You, Darius and DeAndre!
